Good morning!

As the Director of Information Technology for Man in the Mirror, I am called upon to wear many hats (aren't we all?!?). And in the 5+ years I have been with this organization I have been blessed to witness a great number of appearances by speakers associated with Man in the Mirror who definitely 'left you wanting more'.

Rarely however, have I been so blessed as I was during the 2010 Man in the Mirror Annual Summit to witness such a profound outpouring of the Holy Spirit delievered by a single speaker. We were all very blessed this year to witness Charles Cooper as he delivered a message which truly seemed to resonate with the entire audience.

But don't take my word for it, click 'play' below to see for yourself:

Additonally, you may do the following in order to save a copy for yourself or to share with others:

  1. In IE go to http://mitm.rev-media.com/asf/mim_as_2010_cooper.asf
  2. The video should begin to play in Windows Media Player (WMP).
  3. In WMP, go to File > Save As and it will save the file to the location you specify.
  4. You can then play the video from the computer.

After watching it, I know you will agree with me when I point out that God has truly blessed Charles with the gift of being able to speak directly into all of our lives!

I'm excited to see how He uses Charles in the year ahead!

God bless!

Man in the Mirror Summit 2010

Here is a recap of the 2010 Man in the Mirror Annual Summit...

(re)introducing the church to men…and men to the church was the theme of the 2010 Man in the Mirror Annual Summit as men’s leaders gathered in Orlando, Florida on January 28-30 to worship, fellowship, learn and share. Over 180 different leaders and spouses attended the event this year from 31 states and Canada!

Things were hopping before the Summit even started. Leaders from the Denominational Men’s Ministry Network of North America moved their meeting to the afternoon before the Summit, and our own Field Network met prior to the Summit as well. This gave both groups a chance to meet each other and share some resources and ideas.

The event began with a welcome reception, followed by a formal dinner at First Baptist Church Orlando. Kicking off the program after dinner was John Waller, singer/songwriter of While I’m Waiting from the movie Fireproof. John shared his heart for scripture and worship as he sang his best-known song, as well as some original and some well-known praise songs throughout the weekend.

The Summit featured 4 main sessions, four workshops sessions and a round table discussion time. Pat Morley and David Delk shared at the first session a brief history of the impact of Man in the Mirror since its inception in 1986, showing how the ministry has impacted over 10,000,000 people through Bible studies, books, seminars and leadership training. Pat shared the vision for Man in the Mirror going forward: Serving Pastors. Training Leaders. Transforming Men. He also unveiled our new BHAG (Big Holy Audacious Goal): To see 10,000,000 men leading powerful, transformed lives by 2020.

David Delk concluded the evening unveiling the Journey to Biblical Manhood, our new men’s discipleship planning tool for churches. David shared this innovative new platform to help churches walk men through ten modules that will help them become who God called them to be. Each module addresses an important area of a man’s life, like marriage, finances, fathering and work.

After attending the Man in the Mirror Bible Study on Friday morning, the event continued with a stirring talk from Charles Cooper. “Coop” shared a powerful story of two men confronted with the gospel – one willing to submit his life to Christ, the other refusing. The ramifications of this decision were far-reaching in each man’s life. Coop reminded us that we must realize the impact of helping men follow Christ or risk being “stuck on stupid.”

Attendees had 5 different workshops to choose from at each of the four sessions.  A special thank you to all the presenters for making 20 different topics available. Kyle Pedersen from Lutheran Men in Mission’s workshop on reaching younger men, and workshops for our Field Network were some of the highest rated sessions, although all of our presenters received very positive comments on the evaluations.

The fifth workshop session was turned into ad hoc round tables on topics requested by the attendees. Spirited discussions were prevalent throughout the main hall as smaller groups of leaders hashed out ideas and shared their best practices.

David Delk’s Friday afternoon devotional and Pat’s concluding presentation, A Roadmap for Revival, hit men at the heart level. Before we concluded, an open sharing time allowed many men the opportunity to comment on how the weekend had impacted them. Many spoke of a renewed passion and rejuvenated spirit. The sharing ended with a powerful time as the leaders gathered around the pastors in the room and prayed over them in small groups. John Waller closed the event with the song that became the theme for the weekend, Our God Reigns Here.

Save the date for next year, as the Annual Summit returns on the last weekend in January!
